ImproMaths a Passion!

As an Electronics Engineer turned Software Professional, I spent 8 years in the software industry — 3 of them unemployed. I tried to convince myself that this was the life I was meant for, that I owed it to my parents and their sacrifices. I told myself I was “lucky” to be in an industry everyone wanted to be part of. But deep down, I knew something was missing. The success I achieved felt hollow. Moving to Singapore only made the void clearer when I couldn’t land a job and hit the lowest point in my professional life.

Then, everything changed.

One call from a friend asking me to teach her daughter Mathematics flipped the switch. Her daughter was terrified of the subject — nightmares before exams kind of scared. I said yes instantly. Teaching had always brought me joy, and I was desperate to feel alive again. That one session reignited a spark I didn’t even know still existed.

Suddenly, life had colour. Every time my student succeeded, my heart lit up. I had found my calling — teaching. Even after returning to a full-time job, I kept teaching. Slowly, more students came in, and ImproMaths was born. After my son was born, I finally left the software world behind and embraced teaching full time. It's been over 7 incredible years — fulfilling, joyful, and deeply purposeful.

My goal? To give students the same experience my incredible teacher gave me — no judgments, no pressure. I answer the same question a hundred times if needed. I teach patiently, from the heart. I adapt to every student’s pace. My belief: Understanding comes before speed.

One story I’ll never forget — I spent 1.5 months teaching a student just integers. Today, he can solve any problem in seconds. His parents and I worked together, believing in the power of strong basics. That’s how we grow — student, parent, and teacher as one team.

At ImproMaths, we make sure students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. In fact, mistakes are encouraged — they’re stepping stones to mastery. That’s why our classes are interactive, fun, and fearless.

And as my students grow, I grow too — as a teacher, a learner, and an entrepreneur. Their curiosity pushes me to stay sharp. Their trust inspires me to keep evolving.

Through it all, my husband Vishwas has been my unwavering support — celebrating my wins and lifting me during lows. He helped me redefine success, and now I do the same for my students.

Over the years, I realised it’s not just the subject that scares students — it’s the fear of being judged, of not being good enough. So I took a step further and became an NLP-certified Life Coach. With these techniques, I now help students overcome not just academic challenges, but emotional ones too.

At ImproMaths, we launched ImproMaths Basic to strengthen core concepts. We'll continue to offer such courses because strong foundations are everything.

So, welcome to ImproMaths — where maths becomes meaningful, fear fades away, and every student finds their spark.
